Graphic Designer

betterU is looking for a confident creative designer who is self-motivated and has a strong background in both print and digital media. You are detail oriented with a get-it-done attitude that does not compromise on quality. You have a comprehensive understanding of Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and the latest web technologies; a bit of a “jack-of-all-trades”. You are a self-starter and creative thinker that can work in a collaborative environment on multiple project simultaneously with tight deadlines.

This role is a 3-month contract with the possibility of becoming a full time.

Here’s what you will do:

  • Produce design content in a variety of mediums including: web designs, printed collateral, direct mail, email marketing, etc.
  • Make changes to content based on feedback from others
  • Responsible for sourcing imagery and follow clearly defined brief guidelines.

Here is what you will have to be the successful candidate:

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience with marketing, web design, and print design‬
  • Diploma in Graphic Design or equivalent work experience‬
  • Experience working with clients and project teams to execute high-level creative solutions‬
  • Cutting-edge design skills‬
  • Proficient in the latest Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Experience Design (XD) and Acrobat Pro).
  • Knowledge of 3D and motion graphics a plus (but not required)
  • Experienced with WordPress (but not required)

Videographer/Motion Graphic Designer

BetterU is looking for a confident Videographer who is self-motivated and has a strong background in creating and editing video content. To be successful in this role you will need to be detail-oriented and have a comprehensive understanding of the latest video editing software and techniques. You have exceptional visual communication skills and are detail oriented with a get it done attitude that does not compromise on quality. You are a self-starter and a creative thinker.

This role is a 3-month contract with the possibility of becoming a full time.

Here’s what you will do:

  • Design and create static and animation video content
  • Create motion graphic videos to promote company and partner brands
  • Collaborate to develop cutting-edge, innovative video content that is on-trend and meaningful to customers
  • Responsible for ensuring final deliverables are aligned with brand standards
  • Assist with project planning and scheduling of timelines
  • Shoot, edit and generate original short and long form video content for online and social media platforms
  • Ensure assets are prepped, organized, and archived properly
  • Video editing and motion graphics design/animation

Here is what you will have to be the successful candidate:

  • 2+ years’ experience as a Videographer/Motion Graphic Designer
  • Degree or diploma in an arts or digital media related field
  • Expertise in motion graphic design
  • Strong understanding of current trends in online media
  • Professional knowledge and experience with the video equipment and techniques used in the video editing field; DSLR Canon, Final Cut, After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro, etc.
  • Experience in deadline-driven environment
  • Experience in VFX, motion graphics is an asset

Administrative Assistant

If our mission speaks to you then consider joining our team as an Administrative Assistant.

betterU is looking for an Administrative Assistant to provide support within the Human Resources and Finance teams. In this role you will be required to juggle multiple tasks; the ability to multi-task and set priorities will be very important. To be successful in this role you will need to be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment with a high attention to detail and have excellent communication skills.

Here is what you will do:

  • Prepare correspondence for the administrative aspects of the employee lifecycle such as, new hires, reclassifications, internal transfers, leaves of absence, departures.
  • Responsible for ensuring completeness and accuracy of all employee records. This consists of creating the employee file, system entry, keeping the records up to date with any changes during the lifecycle of the employee as well as vacation tracking and reporting.
  • Support recruiting activities, such as posting employment opportunities, setting up interviews and putting in place required logistics, assisting with review and tracking of resumes etc.
  • Administer on-boarding and off-boarding processes, including ensuring all systems have been activated or deactivated.
  • Support HR programs and projects as required.
  • Respond to general HR inquiries.
  • Perform other related duties.
  • Assist with creating and preparing various reports and spreadsheets.
  • Manage all office administration duties including ordering of office equipment and supplies, filing and greeting guests.
  • Bi-weekly payroll input and YTD amount
  • Entering bills and employee expenses in Quick Books as well as reconciling the account payable sub ledger
  • Prepare weekly/monthly sales and finance reports using excel.
  • Review content partner agreements, upload the agreements and ensure the revenue split is reflected properly.

Here is what you will have to be the successful candidate:

  • Educational background in Human Resources, Finance or Business Administration.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an office environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Quick Book.
